The Discovery Series

This concept was born out of curiosity and exploration while Mridula was playing with geometrical figures one day.

Light and the effect of effulgence on colours had intrigued her for months during her visits to Art exhibitions in Dubai and India, but what she wanted to do with it was vague in her mind. She decided to shelve the concept until she was ready for it. And it was worth the wait indeed !

Based on the prismatic effect of watercolours which is her favourite medium, she decided to do a series of watercolour paintings called "The Discovery" ! The concept explores the realms of colours at the core of the effulgence of Divinity and its soothing effect on the seeker. The first few works in the series are inspired by the Mudras revered in Buddhism.

The Radiance of Harmony 50 X 40 cm Inspired by the Dhyana Mudra, this painting depicts the two aspects that complement each other for a fine balance. The right hand symbolizes method and left hand symbolizes wisdom.	The Radiance of Enlightenment 50 X 40 cm Inspired by the Vitarka Mudra that shows the teaching of knowledge and insight gained after enlightenment by Buddha to his disciples.	The Radiance of Grace 50 X 40 cm Inspired by the Varada Mudra which is a gesture of compassion, of conferring a boon and of grace.
The Radiance of Devotion 50 X 40 cm Inspired by the Anjali Mudra, a gesture of adoration, offering and devotion. The gesture also symbolizes the union of two worlds, the co-existence of spiritual and material aspects of our lives.
